Privacy Policy
Effective May 26, 2026
This is the same Privacy Policy you accept when you create an Ausinly account in the mobile app. It explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have as a California resident.
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how Ausinly ("Ausinly," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you create an Ausinly account, use the Ausinly mobile app, or visit ausinly.com (collectively, the "Services").
Ausinly is a care coordination platform that connects Care Seekers with verified Companions for non-emergency support. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Ausinly is not a healthcare provider and is not a HIPAA-covered entity. Do not use the Services to transmit protected health information that requires HIPAA protections.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, password (hashed), date of birth, and the account role you select (Care Seeker or Companion).
- Profile information: bio, care needs, preferences, languages, availability, profile photo, and other details you choose to add.
- Verification information (Trust Stack): government-issued identification documents, selfies for identity matching, employer or organization name, work email address, professional certifications, and any related verification artifacts.
- Session and request information: bookings you create or accept, scheduled times, locations, service categories, special instructions, safety checklists, and session notes.
- Messaging content: messages exchanged inside the Ausinly app. Messages are end-to-end encrypted between you and the other party; Ausinly stores encrypted message records to support delivery, safety review, and dispute resolution.
- Location information: precise or approximate location collected only when location sharing is enabled for an active session, when you use location-aware safety tools, or with your explicit permission.
- Payment information: billing details and transaction history. Card numbers and bank account details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor; Ausinly does not store full card numbers.
- Device and usage information: IP address, device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, and interaction events used to operate and improve the Services.
- OAuth and third-party sign-in information: when you sign in with Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider.
- Communications with Ausinly: information you provide when you contact support, submit a safety report, or respond to surveys.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account and provide the Services.
- Match Care Seekers with Companions and facilitate requests, bookings, and sessions.
- Operate the Trust Stack: verify identity, employment or organizational affiliation, and professional credentials.
- Deliver in-app messaging and session safety features, including pre-session checklists, location sharing during active sessions, and emergency escalation paths.
- Process payments, payouts, refunds, and cancellation fees.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, policy violations, and safety incidents.
- Communicate with you about requests, sessions, account activity, policy updates, and (with your consent where required) product news.
- Improve the Services, debug issues, and develop new features.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and other policies.
How We Share Your Information
We share information in the limited circumstances below. We do not sell your personal information for money.
- With the other party to a request or session: Care Seekers and Companions see the information needed to evaluate, accept, and conduct a session, such as first name, profile photo, verification badges, ratings, and session location and time.
- With service providers: payment processors, identity verification vendors, cloud hosting, customer support, analytics, crash reporting, and communications providers acting on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- With employers or organizations: only the minimum information required to confirm an employment or affiliation status (for example, that a work email is valid), and only as part of Trust Stack verification you initiate.
- For safety and legal reasons: with law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the safety of any person, investigate fraud, or enforce our Terms.
- In a business transfer: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your direction or consent: when you choose to share information with a Trusted Circle, post in a community feed, or otherwise direct us to disclose it.
Ausinly does not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising and does not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
Verification & Sensitive Information
To support platform safety, Companions submit government-issued identification, may verify employment or organizational affiliation, and may submit professional certifications. Care Seekers may submit identification depending on the services requested.
Verification documents are encrypted at rest, retained only as long as necessary to confirm and re-confirm trust status, and accessed only by authorized personnel and verification vendors bound by confidentiality obligations.
Other sensitive information you choose to share (for example, medical context in a request) is used solely to fulfill the request and is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the Services.
Messaging & Location
In-app messages are end-to-end encrypted between you and the other party. Ausinly cannot read message contents in the ordinary course of operations. Encrypted message records are retained to support delivery, account recovery, and safety review when a user files a report.
Location sharing is opt-in and limited to active sessions and safety tools. You can disable location sharing at any time from device settings or in the app, though some safety features depend on it and may be unavailable when disabled.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, safety incident, or fraud-prevention purposes. Verification records may be retained in a limited form to prevent re-verification fraud.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and routine security reviews. Messaging is end-to-end encrypted, and sensitive screens in the app are protected against screen capture where supported by the device.
No security program is perfect. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for notifying Ausinly promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know: request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete: request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct: request that we correct inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information: direct us to limit our use of sensitive personal information to purposes reasonably necessary to provide the Services.
- Right to opt out of sale or sharing: Ausinly does not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may submit a request to confirm.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Help & Support section of the Ausinly app or the contact form on ausinly.com. We will verify your request using information already associated with your account. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization.
Children's Privacy
Ausinly is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a Care Seeker requests services for a minor in their household, the account remains held by the responsible adult and only the information necessary for the session is collected.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Ausinly, contact us through the Ausinly app or the contact form on ausinly.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Third-Party Services & Links
The Services rely on third-party providers, including Google and LinkedIn for sign-in, payment processors for transactions, identity verification vendors, mapping and location providers, cloud infrastructure, analytics, and communications providers. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy notices.
Ausinly may link to third-party websites or services that we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties; review their privacy notices before using them.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app, by email, or both, and we will update the Effective Date above. Continued use of the Services after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
